Amid growing tensions between India and Pakistan after Wednesday’s missile assaults in portions of Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, two international flights headed for Bangladesh were rerouted.

According to airport sources, the flights either changed their course beforehand or diverted in midair amidst growing security concerns in the area.

They said that Turkish Airlines’ flight from Turkey to Dhaka (TK-712/713) veered out of Pakistani airspace and headed toward Muscat International Airport in Oman.

In addition, the return leg (533/534) returned to Kuwait rather than continuing to Dhaka, and Jazeera Airways (531/532) was redirected to Dubai.

According to airport officials, the diverted flights began arriving at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka when air traffic circumstances progressively calmed on Wednesday morning.
